Sitapur Tops Uttar Pradesh in Farmer Registration Drive

Over 74% of Sitapur’s farmers registered; State aims for 100% verification by November-end

LUCKNOW, Oct 25: Sitapur district has taken the lead in Uttar Pradesh’s ongoing farmer registration drive, achieving an impressive 74.58% registration rate so far. Basti district follows closely with 74.24%, while Rampur ranks third with 70%, officials said on Saturday.

Statewide, nearly 54% of farmers have completed the registration process, benefiting close to 1.5 crore cultivators. The campaign is being run in mission mode under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure all eligible farmers are included under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

According to officials, beginning April 1, 2026, only registered farmers will receive the next PM-KISAN instalment. In light of this, the government has ramped up registration and verification drives across all districts.

District magistrates have been instructed to organize special farmer registration camps in every village by November 30, share detailed schedules with the state headquarters, and expedite the verification process to ensure timely disbursal of funds.

Currently, around 4,000 farmers are being registered each day. The government aims to complete both registration and verification of all eligible farmers by the end of November, ensuring no beneficiary is left out of the upcoming PM-KISAN payment cycle.
