Mumbai, Oct 28 : After conquering the global box office, Kantara: Chapter 1 is gearing up for its highly anticipated digital debut. The Rishab Shetty directorial, which opened to record breaking collections on Gandhi Jayanti 2025, will start streaming on Prime Video India from October 31.
The announcement was made by the streaming platform through a short 19 second teaser, captioned, “Get ready to witness the LEGENDary adventure of Berme #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, October 31.” The film will be available in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, while the Hindi dubbed version will arrive at a later date.
Kantara: Chapter 1 Nears ₹830 Crore Global Milestone
Written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the mythological action drama has emerged as one of India’s biggest blockbusters of 2025. In just 25 days, it has grossed approximately ₹780 crore worldwide, including ₹667 crore from domestic markets. Trade analysts estimate that its lifetime earnings could touch ₹820–830 crore globally, although the early OTT release may slightly trim its theatrical run.
The English dubbed version is also set for release on October 31, expected to boost the film’s international viewership.
Cast, Production, and Storyline
A prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara: A Legend, this chapter delves into the origins of the folklore and the spiritual roots that shaped the saga. Alongside Shetty, the film stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram, among others.
Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films, Kantara: Chapter 1 continues Shetty’s signature blend of divine mysticism and rooted storytelling. With its OTT debut, the film is expected to reach a global audience, inviting viewers once again into the mystical world of Berme’s legend.
