LG Manoj Sinha: Sacrifice, Values, and Dialogue Form Pillars of J&K’s Lasting Peace

At an international peace symposium in Srinagar, LG Sinha credits PM Modi’s leadership for transforming J&K’s landscape and urges citizens to safeguard hard earned peace through unity, compassion, and lawfulness.

SRINAGAR, Nov 5: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that Jammu and Kashmir’s journey towards peace and development has been built on the sacrifices of countless individuals and guided by India’s timeless values of compassion, dialogue, and coexistence.

Addressing the International Symposium on Peace, People and Possibilities in J&K at the SKICC in Srinagar, the LG said true peace emerges when people live with dignity, respect, and mutual understanding.

“The theme of this symposium ‘Peace, People and Possibilities’ reflects a deep vision for Jammu and Kashmir’s future. The voice of Dal Lake and the whisper of the Chinars together will continue to inspire peace,” Sinha remarked.

He said peace in the region is now visible in the lives of ordinary citizen hrough their work, opportunities, and growing sense of security. “Today, every Kashmiri is shaping this new era of peace through hard work and collective progress,” he noted.

The LG praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for “turning the impossible into possible” in J&K. “In the past five to six years, what couldn’t be achieved in three decades has become a reality. Roads, schools, and villages that once echoed with unrest now reflect growth, hope, and laughter,” he said.

Calling peace “a collective responsibility,” Sinha said it must be protected by every citizen and preserved in memory of the soldiers, police, and civilians who laid down their lives for stability. “Their sacrifice must guide our actions and strengthen our resolve,” he added.

Urging people to uphold the rule of law and the spirit of cooperation, he emphasized that societies built on dialogue, unity, and respect always move forward. “The power of unity nurtures creativity, innovation, and prosperity,” he said.

Sinha also appealed to the youth to reject drugs and radicalisation, warning that some elements still echo the language of Pakistan-backed terrorism. “The eyes of the nation are on J&K. We must identify and isolate those who seek to disturb peace,” he asserted.

Recalling the nation’s solidarity after the Pulwama attack, the LG said that spirit of resilience and unity must continue to define Jammu and Kashmir. “We must protect what has been built through sacrifice and ensure that no divisive force weakens it,” he concluded.
