Budget Reflects Roar, Resonance of Atmanirbhar India: Naqvi
Former Union minister says Budget underscores resolve to realise developed India’s potential
NEW DELHI, Feb 3: Former Union Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday described the Union Budget 2026 as a powerful expression of a self reliant India and a document reflecting the government’s resolve to unlock the country’s development potential.
Speaking to reporters in Rampur, Naqvi said the Budget symbolises the “roar and resonance” of an Atmanirbhar India, even as the global economy faces uncertainty and recessionary pressures.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance for sustaining India’s economic momentum, saying consistent policy direction and stability had enabled the country to navigate external shocks and internal challenges.
Responding to criticism from the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and other Opposition groups, Naqvi said their objections lacked substance and reflected growing political irrelevance. He alleged that such criticism was driven by what he termed “intellectual bankruptcy” rather than constructive engagement.
Naqvi said the BJP, after coming to power in 2014, addressed long-standing governance challenges without politicising the difficulties inherited from previous administrations. He claimed the party’s emphasis on decisive leadership and effective delivery had transformed India into a global example of stability, good governance and inclusive empowerment.
He added that this approach had strengthened India’s global standing and ensured steady progress despite continuing international and domestic challenges.
