CM Omar setting governance benchmark in J&K: Showkat Mir

Meets scores of delegations at Nawa-e-Subha

Srinagar, Feb 10:  A large number of worker delegations and party functionaries from across the Kashmir Valley Tuesday called on the Party Provincial President Kashmir, Showkat Mir, at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

Mir exhorted party workers and office bearers to act as a strong and credible bridge between the people and the government, and to proactively engage with citizens at the grassroots level. He emphasised that sustained public connect and responsiveness to people’s issues remain the cornerstone of the party’s political philosophy.

While addressing the gathering, Mir lauded the leadership and vision of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, describing him as a statesman committed to inclusive development, transparency, and people-centric governance. “Omar Abdullah’s leadership stands as a symbol of mature, responsive, and forward-looking governance. His commitment to democratic values and public welfare continues to inspire confidence among the people,” Mir said.

Highlighting the significance of the second budget presented by the Omar Abdullah-led government, Mir termed it a ‘course-corrector’ that realistically addresses the aspirations and expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The second budget is not merely a financial document; it is a reflection of the government’s sincere intent to correct imbalances, prioritise public welfare, and place Jammu and Kashmir firmly on the path of sustainable growth,” he remarked.

Mir further stated that the budget demonstrates sound governance, fiscal responsibility and a deep understanding of ground realities, particularly in sectors such as employment, infrastructure, social welfare, horticulture, agriculture, tourism and youth empowerment.

Calling upon party functionaries to amplify the achievements of the government, Mir urged them to take the message of development, stability and progress to every corner of the Valley.
