PV Sindhu Returns Safely to Bengaluru After Being Stranded in Dubai Amid Middle East Crisis
India, Feb 03 : India’s top shuttler PV Sindhu has returned home safely to Bengaluru after being stranded in Dubai due to the escalating Iran-Israel tensions, describing the past few days as “intense and uncertain.”
Safe Return and Gratitude
“Back home in Bangalore and safe. The last few days have been intense and uncertain, but I’m truly grateful to be back to my house,” Sindhu wrote on X. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to Dubai authorities, airport staff, immigration, and ground teams for their support during the crisis.
Stranded in Dubai
Sindhu, a double Olympic medallist, was en route to the All England Badminton Tournament, scheduled to start on March 3, when flight disruptions caused by US and Israeli strikes on Iran forced her to miss the event.
Close Calls and Safety Measures
While stuck in Dubai since Saturday, Sindhu and her team, including coach Irwansyah Adi Pratama, experienced a narrow escape from an explosion near their accommodation and were relocated to a secure location as tensions escalated in the Gulf.
Looking Ahead
“For now, it’s time to rest, reset, and figure out the next steps,” Sindhu said, hinting at plans to resume training and competition after this stressful period.
This update comes as a relief to fans, confirming that the Indian badminton star is safe after several days of uncertainty abroad.
