CPI(M) Stages ‘Jan Akrosh Rally’ Against India-US Trade Deal, Rising Inflation
Party leaders raise concerns over price rise, fuel shortages and economic policies at Delhi protest
New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Tuesday organised a ‘Jan Akrosh Rally’ at Ramlila Maidan, voicing strong opposition to the proposed India-US trade deal and raising concerns over rising prices and economic challenges.
The protest witnessed participation from hundreds of supporters, who highlighted issues such as increasing costs of essential commodities, shortages of cooking gas and fuel, and the impact of government policies on common citizens.
Addressing the gathering, CPI(M) general secretary M A Baby stressed that while elections remain significant, the party’s priority lies in addressing the day to day struggles faced by the public.
Leaders at the rally criticised current economic measures, arguing that they have added to the financial burden on households. The demonstration formed part of the party’s broader campaign to mobilise public opinion on inflation and livelihood concerns.
The event underscored growing political focus on cost of living issues, with opposition parties increasingly raising these concerns ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
