Kejriwal Alleges Delhi Electorate Feels “Cheated” by BJP Rule

AAP chief criticises BJP over governance issues as war of words escalates with Delhi leaders

NEW DELHI, Mar 26: AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led government in Delhi, alleging that residents of the national capital feel “cheated” after voting the party to power.

The remarks came after a Rajinder Nagar resident raised concerns on social media about a severe water shortage in the area, claiming there had been no supply for the past four days. Responding to the complaint, Kejriwal accused the BJP of failing to address basic civic issues while focusing on targeting him politically.

“The people of Delhi are feeling cheated after voting for them,” Kejriwal said, asserting that the ruling party has not delivered on governance. He added that the BJP rose to power by criticising him and continues to do so instead of resolving public grievances.

The BJP, however, dismissed the allegations. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor termed Kejriwal’s remarks a continuation of his “old political strategy,” accusing the former chief minister of failing to deliver during his 11-year tenure and resorting to a “victim card.” Kapoor further alleged that administrative shortcomings and corruption during the AAP government are now coming to light.

The political confrontation intensified after BJP leaders circulated a video criticising Kejriwal over alleged extravagance in the renovation of his former official residence at 6, Flagstaff Road. The video, released by Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh and titled “Dhurandhar 3,” showcases features such as chandeliers and a jacuzzi, while questioning the expenditure involved.

Hitting back, Kejriwal said the BJP leadership is more focused on personal attacks than governance. “They came to power by abusing me and will continue doing so, rather than running the government or addressing people’s issues,” he alleged.
