Kulgam Police Demolish House of Infamous Drug Peddler Couple

Property linked to husband-wife duo facing multiple NDPS cases razed during joint operation by police and district administration

KULGAM, May 16: In a significant move against narcotics trafficking, police along with the district administration demolished a residential property allegedly linked to a husband-wife duo accused in several drug related cases in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Officials identified the accused as Nafeez Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar of Brazloo Jagir, and his wife Rukiya Jan. Authorities described the pair as habitual offenders involved in multiple cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Police said Nafeez Ahmad Dar has been named in FIR No. 143/2020 under Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Yaripora and FIR No. 10/2021 under Section 8/20 registered at Police Station Kulgam.

Rukiya Jan is also facing separate narcotics cases, including FIR No. 27/2023 under Sections 8/20 and 21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Anantnag and FIR No. 10/2024 under Section 8/21 at Police Station Yaripora. She is currently lodged in Central Jail Srinagar.

According to officials, the demolition drive forms part of an intensified campaign aimed at curbing the drug trade and dismantling networks allegedly supporting narcotics activities across the region.
