Rising Heatwave Cases Put Hospitals on High Alert
Doctors advise hydration and reduced outdoor exposure amid soaring temperatures
JAIPUR, May 27: Hospitals in several northern and western states have reported a rise in heat-related illnesses as temperatures continue to remain above seasonal averages.
Doctors said cases of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke have increased significantly during the past week, particularly among elderly people and outdoor workers.
Health departments have issued advisories urging residents to avoid direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours and maintain adequate fluid intake.
Emergency medical teams have also been placed on alert in multiple districts experiencing severe heatwave conditions.
Experts warned that prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures could worsen respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
Authorities are coordinating with local administrations to establish cooling centres and distribute drinking water in vulnerable areas.
