Tech giant expands AI education, startup support, and enterprise solutions to accelerate responsible artificial intelligence adoption across India's innovation ecosystem.

NEW DELHI, July 14: Google has announced a series of new artificial intelligence initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s developer and startup ecosystem during the I/O Connect India 2026 event. The company introduced advanced AI tools, educational programmes, and enterprise-focused solutions designed to help developers build next-generation applications while promoting responsible AI adoption.

The announcements reflect Google’s growing investment in India, one of its largest developer communities globally. The company said its latest initiatives will provide developers with easier access to frontier AI models, agentic AI capabilities, and practical learning resources.

Among the key announcements were AI-powered training programmes and updated educational curricula that will help students, software engineers, and entrepreneurs gain hands-on experience with generative AI technologies. Google also introduced programmes aimed at enabling startups to integrate AI into products more efficiently while complying with local regulatory and data requirements.

The company highlighted partnerships focused on AI safety, responsible deployment, and localisation, allowing Indian businesses to develop applications that better serve regional languages and customer needs.

Google emphasised that India’s digital economy continues to expand rapidly, supported by the growing Android and Google Play ecosystem. According to the company, the ecosystem generated nearly ₹5.3 lakh crore in economic value during 2025, representing a significant increase over the previous year and supporting thousands of developers and technology businesses.

Industry experts believe the latest AI initiatives could accelerate innovation across sectors including healthcare, education, fintech, agriculture, and manufacturing by making advanced AI technologies more accessible to businesses of every size.

The announcements also align with India’s broader vision of becoming a global AI innovation hub through investments in digital infrastructure, semiconductor manufacturing, and startup development. Government initiatives promoting AI research and digital public infrastructure are expected to complement private sector investments in the coming years.

With increasing competition in the global AI race, Google’s latest programmes are expected to provide Indian developers with new opportunities to build globally competitive AI-powered products while strengthening the country’s technology ecosystem.
