Indian Athletics Squad Begins Final Preparations for Asian Championships

New Delhi, July 26: India’s athletics team has entered the final phase of preparations for the upcoming Asian Athletics Championships, with national campers undergoing intensive training sessions aimed at peaking at the right time for the continental competition.
Athletes from sprint, middle distance, long-distance, jumping and throwing disciplines have been participating in specialised camps under the supervision of national coaches. The emphasis has been placed on improving consistency, injury prevention and competition readiness.
Coaching staff have introduced event specific training programmes designed to sharpen technical skills while maintaining physical conditioning. Recovery sessions, nutrition planning and sports science support have also become key components of the preparation.
Several experienced athletes are expected to lead India’s challenge, while a number of young performers who impressed at recent national competitions have also earned opportunities to represent the country. Coaches believe the blend of experience and youth could prove beneficial against Asia’s strongest nations.
Officials from the Athletics Federation expressed confidence that the squad is progressing according to schedule. They stated that recent domestic performances indicate athletes are in good form and capable of competing for podium finishes across multiple events.
Sports experts noted that India’s performances in athletics have steadily improved over the past few seasons, with greater investment in coaching infrastructure and scientific training methods contributing to consistent international results.
The final selection process will conclude after the completion of training assessments, following which the team will depart for the championship venue. India will be aiming to improve its medal tally from the previous edition and strengthen its position among Asia’s leading athletics nations.
