Ashwin Says Hardik Pandya Trade Talks Are Far From Settled

Former India spinner cautions against speculation over the all-rounder's possible move from Mumbai Indians

New Delhi: Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has played down reports surrounding a possible trade involving Mumbai Indians all rounder Hardik Pandya, saying discussions about the player’s future are far from being finalised.

Speculation has linked Pandya with potential moves to Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League season.

Ashwin, however, indicated that there is still considerable uncertainty surrounding any proposed deal and that Mumbai Indians would need to assess their options before making a final decision.

Pandya remains one of the most prominent all-rounders in the IPL and has previously led Mumbai Indians after returning to the franchise following his successful spell with Gujarat Titans.

Any potential transfer would therefore have significant implications for the league’s team compositions and auction strategy.

The reported interest from other franchises has also fuelled discussion about how teams could reshape their squads ahead of the next IPL season.

However, with no completed deal confirmed, the immediate focus remains on Mumbai’s decision making and the player’s future with the franchise.

Ashwin’s comments are likely to temper speculation while leaving the possibility of a major IPL move open in the months ahead.
