CERT-In Flags Critical Android Vulnerabilities, Urges Users to Update Devices

New Delhi, Sep 16: India’s Computer Emergency Response Team has issued a critical security warning over multiple vulnerabilities affecting Android devices, urging users to install the latest available security updates.
The advisory, identified as CIVN-2026-0454, was released on September 14 and highlights security weaknesses that could potentially allow attackers to compromise affected devices remotely. The vulnerabilities pose risks including unauthorised access, data theft and disruption of services.
The warning applies to both individual users and organisations relying on affected Android devices. CERT-In has advised users to follow security recommendations and ensure their phones are running the latest patches provided for their respective devices.
