Desilting works of Tawi Canal in full swing with night operations

JAMMU, MARCH 27: The RTIC department is conducting the desilting works of the Tawi Canal on a war footing basis as night operations have also been started for the early completion of these works.

The department has also established a proper mechanism for the disposal of material by using ample men and machinery.  The department is working at full pace and the canal will be charged well in time during the festival of Baisakhi.

This year as a lot of garbage and sewerage water was accumulated in the canal section, the department charged the canal for flushing the stagnant sewerage water including garbage which could not be taken out during desilting operation.

During the course of flushing, huge amount of garbage which was accumulated around various structures got cleared and then flushed out from the Balole escape.
