DDC Poonch listens to people’s issues at Bufliaz

Inaugurates medical camp; visits JNV Surankote

POONCH, AUGUST 29: In an endeavour to redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, the District Development Commissioner, Inderjeet visited Block Bufliaz and presided over a public outreach camp at the local Higher Secondary School.

 Locals, PRIs, and BDC chairpersons demanded augmentation of water and power supply, better Medicare facilities, and several specific issues including provision of adequate veterinary healthcare for the livestock,    completion of Taranwali to Kalali PMGSY road, etc.

They also demanded blacktopping of Bufliaz road, blacktopping of Bufliaz to Dogra Poshana road; besides early completion of Morha to Bagyal PWD road, Mora Hill kaka road, Surankote to Bufliaz road, Bufliaz main to Sawni road, Bheramgalla road, construction of link road Kaller Katha to Peer Bela, Panchayat Ghar for Panchayat Tahrawali, PHC for Taranwali, Check wall and motors for  Bufliaz etc.

Some more issues included compensation for damaged crops, up-gradation of Girl Middle School Bufliaz and Middle School Draba, renovation of primary and middle school buildings in Bufliaz B, PHC for Bufliaz, Trauma Hospital, the establishment of Anganwari centre in Bufliaz B, widow pension to eligible persons, Ambulance for Poshana, verification of BPL beneficiaries, Playground for Bufliaz and various other issues were raised in darbar.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands and gave on-the-spot direction to the concerned department for early redress of the same. He also assured that all their genuine grievances will be resolved in a time-bound manner.

Revealing the status of the ongoing projects, the Executive Engineer PMGSY said that the remaining works of the roads would be completed within a month. Executive Engineer PWD informed that the work of Blacktopping would be launched in September and Hill Kaka Road will also be completed at the earliest.

All the other concerned district officers also assured realization of set targets within the stipulated time frame.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Poonch inaugurated a two-day free medical camp at Poonch in presence of BDCs, DDCs, prominent citizens, and staff members.

The camp was organized by Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Poonch in collaboration with Shifa Hospital Srinagar

The Deputy Commissioner hailed the social work of Jamia Zia Ul Uloom and congratulated its head for organizing the much-needed medical camp.

ASP Poonch, religious heads and prominent civil society members also spoke on the occasion.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School Surankote and reviewed its functioning at Management Committee Meeting (VMC meeting).

Officers of District Administration, SDM Surankote, Tehsildar Surankote, CMO, BMO, CEO, DySP, and other officials along with the parents attended the meeting.

Principal Dr. S. P. Tripathi presented the meeting agenda and raised various problems being faced by the Vidyalaya. He demanded demarcation and boundary wall of the school campus, development of playground, staff quarters, adequate supply of water, high-speed internet facility, handpump, etc.

The Deputy Commissioner announced the hand pump for JNV and also directed the officers to take immediate action effective functioning of Vidyalaya.

The Deputy Commissioner lauded Vidyalaya’s progress under the leadership of Principal Dr. S.P. Tripathi.
