Several projects at Thandapani face government neglect - Ravinder Sharma
Sunderbani, Sept 24- Former MLC and Chief Spokesperson Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Shri Ravinder Sharma has said that several developmental projects at Thandapani near sunderbani town face government neglect for seven years of BJP rule and asked the people to bring about political change to carry forward the development of the area.
Shri Sharma said this during an interactive session with the prominent citizens and party workers of panchayat Thandapani in Sunderbani in which series of pending works facing government neglect were highlighted. The session was part of the Jan sampark Abhiyan, launched by former MLC to reach out to the people of different panchayats of Sunderbani and Nowshera to take stock of the problems of people.
The people complained about the neglect of developmental projects initiated by the Congress government in the Sunderbani area, especially in the Panchayat Thandapani. The people were completely fed up with the policies of the BJP government towards each and every section due to large scale unemployment, unprecedented price hike privatization, failure to fulfill commitments of regularisation of daily wagers, need-based workers, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, helpers, and other contractual and temporary employees, etc besides anti farmers and anti-youth and anti employees policies
The government abandoned the major projects sanctioned by the previous government in the Panchayat like 124-kanals Industrial Estate at Thandapani, Fruit/Vegetables Mandi, sport’s stadium and by-pass highway besides filtration plant, etc have remained neglected and abandoned.
The government failed to take up even a single major project in the area initiated by him for the development of the area. Had these projects been completed, the area would have become a new township of Sunderbani, Sharma said adding that these projects were got sanctioned due to his efforts for the major development but were abandoned by the BJP government.
The Scheduled Caste Basti of ward number one, in the panchayat, complained about the diversion of funds allocated to Dalits Basti under the back to village scheme. They submitted a resolution to the LG through the Former MLC for in-depth inquiry and sought justice.
The Chief spokesperson described the diversion of funds under RDD as a serious matter and sought an inquiry into the episode and appropriate action.
A large no of prominent persons attended including Ex sarpanch Phallu Ram, Dwarka Nath Sharma, Panch Tara Mani, Fateh Singh Yog Raj, Capt Joginder Singh, Th Sukhdev Singh, S Mohinder Singh, Abhishek, Babu Ram Bhagat, Balkrishan , Krishan Lal, Om Parkash, Hav Jagbir Singh, Pinka Prasher, Baldev, Rohit Kumar, and Deep Kumar.
