Sarpanch conclave organized to mark start of Rajouri Day celebrations

RAJOURI, APRIL, 08: A Sarpanch Conclave was today organised in the run up to Rajouri Day Celebrations here by the Army. The participants were given information about Government schemes of Rural Development Department, Forest Department, Horticulture Department, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), JK Energy Development Agency (JKEDA), Dept of Social Welfare, Dept of Handicrafts & NGOs like Gramonnati, Mission Samridhi and Sadbhavna Schemes, who took part in the programme with gusto.

 The aim was to address the problems faced by Sarpanches down to grassroots level as the villages are at the building block of the country’s economic, social & political setup.

Several Stalls were put up & live demos were given to more than 60 Sarpanches.

 Senior Military Officers to include Station Commander Rajouri as well as Civil Officials including DDC Chairman, DC Rajouri, SSP Rajouri and other dignitaries were also present.

The Sarpanches lauded the Indian Army for acting as a bridge for the people and for standing shoulder to shoulder with the Awam.
