DDC Poonch reviews patient care facilities; ‘Providing better services to rural populace being given top priority’

POONCH, MAY 20: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet chaired a meeting to review the overall functioning of health institutions and implementation of UT and centrally sponsored schemes.

The meeting, among others, was attended by CMO Poonch,  Dr. Shamim un Nissa Bhatti; I/C Medical Superintendent District Hospital, DHO Poonch, Block Medical Officers Mandi, Mendhar, Surankote, DIO Poonch,  Vishaldeep Chandan, DTO Poonch, Rashid Dostum,  District Management unit Poonch.

During the meeting, the CMO gave an overview of the functioning of the Department through a powerpoint presentation. A detailed discussion was held on the implementation of health department schemes like  RBSK, Health and  Wellness  Centres, AYUSHMAN BHARAT, National  Digital Health Mission Maternal and  Child  Health, NPCB, NPCDCS, RNTCP, NMHP, IHIP, NLEP, NVBDCP, Family  Planning,  School Health  Programme and improving health care services, availability of essential drugs, measures for hygiene,  provisioning better health service to  the public in far flung areas, reshuffling of staff where ever needed.

The DC asked the concerned authorities for rationalization of the staff  to ensure availability of doctors in PHCs and other rural health institutions so  that people don’t face any inconveniences in availing  health services.

He also said that Health was a priority sector of the Govt and effective measures have been put in place to provide quality services  to the general public.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officer  to put in extra measures for effective implementation  of  health schemes, especially Golden health cards, AYUSHMAN BHARAT, digital health mission etc.

Reviewing the  functioning of district hospital and sub district hospitals, he directed the CMO to take measures for adding new specialties with special focus on the ophthalmic section for eye surgeries like cataract.

The CMO said the DH has adequate Consultants  and only a few positions are lying vacant. “There are oxygen plants in the District Hospital and all SDHs and much improvement has been achieved in functioning of OTs, dialysis unit ,diagnostic services etc” he added.
