Rahul’s Yatra challenge to HM Amit Shah portrays his immaturity, pettiness: Kavinder
Felicitates District Office Bearers of ST & SC Morcha
JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday castigated AICC leader Rahul Gandhi for challenging Home Minister Amit Shah to hold a foot march from Jammu to Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
The BJP stalwart while decrying the statement given by Rahul said that Gandhi family should thank PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah for creating a conducive atmosphere in the Valley enabling them to play with the snow because during Congress regime, such a thing was not possible even in dreams. Kavinder questioned Rahul Gandhi that why such Yatra couldn’t take place during the Congress’ rule? He asked the Congress leader that why not the then Congress Govt allowed anybody to unfurl Tricolour in Lal Chowk? He also asked, “What was the compulsion of the Congress leadership that didn’t allow even the nationalist lot of the country to conduct such Yatras towards Srinagar’s Lal Chowk?”
The senior BJP leader said that Rahul instead of expressing gratitude towards Modi Government for restoring peace and normalcy in the Valley is giving challenge to BJP leadership, showcasing his narrow and trivial-mindedness and babyish behaviour. “The people of the country are watching things very closely and sooner than later, would respond to tell the Congress leader what they think about the credentials of BJP leadership and where does he stands after playing with snowballs and carrying out stunts of wearing T-shirt in bone chilling cold because such things are of no use to people, who are looking forward towards peace, development and avenues for good fortune”, he said adding that Bharat Jodo Yatra proved futile exercise by Rahul Gandhi as the same made no difference in the lives of people except a failed attempt to re-launch Gandhi family’s scion.
Kavinder was speaking at the felicitation programme here at Party Headquarters wherein he felicitated new District Office Bearers of ST and SC Morcha. Rekha Mahajan, President Jammu District South was also present in the meeting.
Kavinder said that BJP has become the largest political party in the country with 18 crore members on record with the membership process still underway. He said that BJP won all seven reserved seats in J&K and will continue to do so in the upcoming political contests.
The former deputy Chief Minister asked the SC/ST Morcha workers to reach all the reserved category people and make them aware about the policies and achievements of Modi Government. He asked the party cadre to focus on winning 50 plus seats in J&K.
Rekha Mahajan assured to achieve the target of 50 plus seats by sensitizing the masses over the pragmatic and nationalistic policies of BJP leadership and the feat which the Modi Government has achieved in the last over eight years in power.
