Srinagar International Airport Introduces E-Cart Service for Passenger Convenience

09-06-2023 : In an effort to enhance passenger convenience and save time, Srinagar International Airport has introduced free e-cart vehicles that will transport passengers from the entry gate to the terminal building along with their baggage. This new facility, which commenced on a trial basis from Saturday, aims to streamline the arrival and departure process at the airport.

Passengers arriving at Srinagar can now easily board these e-carts from the arrival exit and ride to the drop gate, where they can conveniently leave their vehicles. They can then proceed to place their luggage on the X-ray machine and board the e-cart, which will transport them to the main terminal building free of cost. Additionally, paid potters will be available at the drop gate to assist passengers with their luggage.

Initially, four eco-friendly e-carts have been deployed as part of this experimental initiative. Depending on the response and demand, the number of carts can be increased in the future. The airport authority anticipates that with the introduction of these e-cart vehicles, 40-50% of passengers will opt for this service, resulting in significant time savings at the drop gate.

The statement released by the Airport Director acknowledged the frequent complaints from passengers regarding delays and hassles during the entry process at the airport. The previous procedures, including vehicle checking, baggage checking, and personnel frisking, often resulted in time-consuming processes and potential flight delays. This new e-cart service aims to address these concerns and provide a more efficient and seamless experience for passengers.

By offering this convenient mode of transportation from the gate to the terminal building, Srinagar International Airport strives to enhance passenger satisfaction and ensure a smoother journey for travelers.
