Kavinder felicitates sports-persons for brining laurels to J&K, India Open Taekwondo Championship
J&K Wins 3rd Runners-up Trophy in India Open Taekwondo Championship
JAMMU,04-07-2023: J&K Sports Taekwondo Association Team won the 3rd Runner-up Trophy in the India Open Taekwondo Championship 2023 held at Wild Life Forest Department Manali, Himachal Pradesh.
About 180 students from 11 states participated in this event wherein 13 members of J&K Team Ronika Rathore assisted the J&K Team Coach. The team J&K was led by Anil Nanda (Hall of Fame Award). He was also the Chief Technical Director of the said event.
J&K Taekwondo Team won the 3rd Runners-up Trophy while Chandigarh got 1st place and Maharashtra claimed 2nd place. The J&K team performed exceptionally well winning 12 Gold Speed Kicking 5 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals.
During the felicitation function, Kavinder Gupta former Dy. Chief Minister J&K also congratulated the team on their outstaying performance and expressed his commitment to support the promotion of Taekwondo in future championships.
Kavinder said J&K Union Territory has no shortage of talent. Still, there is a need for identifying the talented lot and providing them with the best available coaching so that they find their rightful place in national and international events.
Amit Sharma was also present on the occasion. Several players for the J&K team won.
