JAMMU,09-07-2023 : Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister said that the recent spate in incidents of vandalism and attacks on diplomatic establishments at many places abroad is part of a ploy to malign the image of Sikh community world over.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader from J&K said that a handful of Sikh radicalized elements living overseas have been repeatedly orchestrating acts of vandalism and other serious attacks on consulates in several countries damaging the image of the hardworking Sikh community members under the deep rooted conspiracy. He said that the prominent Sikhs across the world should denounce these fringe elements publically to expose them globally paving way for the cops in different countries to act bluntly against them to stop this once and for all.
Recalling farmers’ protest along Delhi borders, Kavinder alleged that the same elements incited people during the confrontation led by some farmer leaders. He said that the issue today is crucial as these highly radicalized elements wanted to create unrest in India and abroad by misleading the progressive Sikh community by concocting stories against the Government of India.
Kavinder said that the Sikh community in India and even abroad is mature enough and shall not fall prey to their devious plans but being a sensitive matter, the prominent members of the Sikh Diaspora should take a lead in approaching their community and asking the same to remain cautious of their nefarious designs to create unrest.
Kavinder also urged the Sikhs living aboard to keep in touch with Indian authorities to share any information regarding devious plans of the extremists to vitiate peace and tranquility so that action could be taken well in time to stop the situation from escalating as in many cases in the past.
