Tragic Incident on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway: Two Killed as Truck Plunges into Ditch

Jammu, Jul 24: A heart-wrenching accident occurred on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway near Kaluchak, on the outskirts of Jammu city, claiming the lives of two individuals, one of whom was a resident of Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place at approximately 6.30 am when a Samba-bound truck lost control, leading to a devastating chain of events.

According to the Station House Officer of Gangal police station, Ajay Singh Chib, the driver of the ill-fated truck, Kuldeep Singh, hailing from Udhampur, tragically crashed into the safety barriers that were meticulously installed by a construction agency to protect its workers engaged in road construction activities. Tragically, in the process, the truck also collided with a pedestrian, identified as Ajay Chohan, a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

The impact of the collision caused the truck to veer off the road and plunge into a nearby ditch, leading to the unfortunate demise of both Kuldeep Singh and Ajay Chohan. The devastating incident has left the local community in shock and sorrow.

Authorities immediately responded to the scene, and the police have duly registered a case to initiate the necessary investigation. While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, a comprehensive examination of the circumstances surrounding the tragic event will be undertaken.
