Transformative Milestone: PM Modi to Unveil Rs 30,500 Crore Development Projects Across Multiple Sectors in Jammu

Set to distribute appointment letters to approximately 1,500 newly recruited government employees, Modi will also engage with beneficiaries of diverse schemes as part of the ambitious ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ program, as highlighted by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Among the pivotal railway projects slated for inauguration are the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan railway line covering 48 km and the electrification of the Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-Sangaldan section spanning 185.66 km. Notably, the introduction of India’s longest transportation tunnel, T-50, spanning 12.77 km between Khari and Sumber, underscores the region’s infrastructure advancement.

Further emphasizing the commitment to bolstering educational and skilling infrastructure nationwide, Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects valued at approximately Rs 13,375 crore. This includes the establishment of permanent campuses for prestigious institutions like IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIT Jammu, IIITDM Kancheepuram, and the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS), among others.

In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur, Samba, Jammu. This state-of-the-art facility, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,660 crore, is poised to provide comprehensive tertiary-care health services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, Modi will lay the foundation stone for crucial infrastructure projects, including a new terminal building at the Jammu airport, road developments such as the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway and the Srinagar Ring road, and the establishment of a Common User Facility (CUF) petroleum depot in Jammu.

The comprehensive suite of development projects underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering holistic growth, bolstering connectivity, and enriching the quality of life for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. As Modi inaugurates and lays the foundation for these transformative initiatives, the region stands poised for a new era of progress and prosperity.
