Army Chief Reviews Operational Readiness, Modernisation Drive at Northern Command

Gen Dwivedi assesses technology integration, infrastructure expansion and multi-domain operational preparedness during Udhampur visit

JAMMU, Jun 10: Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur to assess the Army’s preparedness for emerging security challenges, with a particular focus on technology driven warfare, force modernisation and operational capability enhancement.

During the visit, the Army Chief received detailed briefings on multi-domain military operations, infrastructure augmentation and efforts to strengthen combat effectiveness across diverse operational scenarios. Senior commanders also apprised him of ongoing initiatives aimed at integrating advanced technologies into military planning and execution.

Addressing officers from the Northern Command and formation headquarters through a hybrid interaction, General Dwivedi underlined the growing importance of innovation, digital transformation and rapid adoption of emerging technologies in maintaining a decisive operational edge.

He reviewed measures being implemented to improve mission readiness and strengthen the Army’s ability to respond to evolving threats along sensitive frontiers. The discussions also covered capability development programmes designed to support future battlefield requirements.
