BSF DG: Police Collaborated Closely With Security Forces During Op Sindoor

Daljit Singh Chawdhary emphasizes collective security efforts, the role of technology, and community trust in modern policing

HYDERABAD, Oct 17: Border Security Force Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary on Friday praised the seamless coordination between police and other security forces during critical operations like ‘Operation Sindoor’. Speaking at the passing out parade of the 77th batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), he highlighted the importance of collective effort in ensuring national security.

“In moments of great national challenge, the police do not stand alone. Operations like ‘Sindoor’ demonstrate how police, armed forces, and central armed police forces work shoulder to shoulder,” Chawdhary said.

He described IPS officers as crucial bridges between the power of the state and public trust, ensuring that democracy endures even under the toughest circumstances. Chawdhary underscored the diverse responsibilities of the IPS, from countering terrorism, Left-Wing Extremism, and narcotics trafficking to safeguarding biodiversity and enforcing socio-economic laws.

The BSF DG urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, respect human rights, and remain committed to public service. “You are stepping into a transformative era in India. Emerging challenges like cybercrime, financial fraud, radicalisation, and information warfare require smart, strict, and sensitive policing,” he said.

Chawdhary stressed that while technology can be a force multiplier, it cannot replace human empathy and trust. “The police station is the first point of contact for citizens. Its functioning reflects your leadership. Strengthening this grassroots interface is key to building credibility,” he added.

Concluding his address, he reminded officers to lead with courage, compassion, and fairness, serving both the vulnerable and the powerful without bias.
