G-20 testimony to India’s big leap in economic growth under PM Modi:  Kavinder, Priya Sethi

19-01-2023 : BJP Senior leader & Former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta and BJP National Executive Member & former Minister J&K Priya Sethi, said that getting G-20 Presidency is a proof that India has attained a vital position among the top economies of the world under the stewardship of PM Narendra Modi.

Addressing a meeting of BJP activists here, the former ministers said that G-20 Presidency is like another feather in PM Modi’s hat of achievements and the successful summit scheduled later in the year will add more colours to the fame of the country.

Kavinder Gupta said that the Group of Twenty (G20) is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States and the European Union and was founded in 1999 after the Asian financial crisis as a forum for the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors to discuss global economic and financial issues.

“It was upgraded to the level of Heads of State/Government in the wake of the global economic and financial crisis of 2007, and, in 2009, was designated the “premier forum for international economic cooperation”,

While speaking, he added that December 1, 2022 was a special day as India assumed the G20 Presidency from Indonesia and would convene the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in the country later in 2023.

BJP National Executive Member Priya Sethi said that deeply committed to democracy and multilateralism, India’s G20 Presidency would be a watershed moment in its history as it seeks to play an important role by finding pragmatic global solutions for the wellbeing of all, and in doing so, manifest the true spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or the ‘World is One Family’.

She also explained that the opportunity will also be used to counter terrorism by joining hands with member nations claiming that it would be PM Modi’s tenure when the country will see the end of terrorism of all kinds.

She further added that this summit is not merely a diplomatic meeting. India takes it as a new responsibility and as the world’s trust in it. “Today, there is an unprecedented curiosity in the world to know and understand India. Today India is being studied in a new light. Our current successes are being assessed and unprecedented hopes are being expressed about our future”, she said, adding that in such an atmosphere it is the responsibility of the citizens to go beyond these expectations and acquaint the world with India’s capabilities, philosophy, social and intellectual strength. We have to unite everyone and energize them for their responsibility towards the world”, she added.

Rekha Mahajan District President Jammu  under whose leadership meeting was arranged asserted that G-20 is a big achievement for BJP under the stewardship of PM Modi as climate change effects and terrorism will be sorted out within the span of G-20 Presidency of the country.
