Gawran–Margan–Warwan Road Faces Traffic Restrictions, Advisory Issued for April 3
Vehicular movement allowed only during limited hours amid icy road conditions
Kokernag, Apr 3: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kokernag on Friday issued a fresh directive regulating vehicular movement along the Gawran–Margan–Warwan stretch, citing safety concerns due to prevailing weather conditions.
According to the order, traffic will be permitted strictly between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on April 3, 2026, and only if weather conditions remain favourable. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly, as no movement will be allowed outside the designated timeframe.
Officials highlighted that several portions of the route continue to have icy patches, increasing the risk of accidents. In view of this, only vehicles fitted with anti-skid devices or snow chains will be allowed to operate, while others will be denied access.
Authorities have also been instructed to ensure effective traffic management and to widely circulate the advisory among the public. Additionally, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Larnoo has been tasked with enforcing the directive strictly on the ground.
