Haleon to Invest Rs 2,000 Crore in New Manufacturing Facility in India

Pithampur facility expected to boost exports, strengthen supply chains and create up to 500 jobs

NEW DELHI, June 12: Global consumer health company Haleon on Thursday announced a Rs 2,000 crore investment to establish its first manufacturing facility in India, choosing Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh as the location for the greenfield project.

The proposed facility will come up on more than 40 acres within the Smart Industrial Park and is aimed at expanding the company’s production capabilities in one of its key growth markets. The investment was announced in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Haleon Chief Executive Officer Brian McNamara, India CEO and President (India Subcontinent) Kedar Lele, and Chief Supply Chain Officer Namrata Patel.

Designed as a modern manufacturing hub, the plant is expected to enhance domestic production capacity, improve supply-chain efficiency and support exports to markets across Asia. The project also aligns with the Centre’s push to strengthen local manufacturing and increase India’s role in global value chains.

According to the company, the investment is projected to create up to 500 direct jobs while generating additional employment through local suppliers and ancillary industries. Haleon said it will focus on skill development and local talent recruitment, while aiming to build a diverse workforce with women comprising up to 30 per cent of employees at the facility.

Welcoming the investment, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the project reflects growing global confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem, supported by strong infrastructure, a skilled workforce and investor-friendly policies. He said the facility would contribute to the state’s economic growth and reinforce its position as a manufacturing and export destination.

Haleon CEO Brian McNamara described India as a strategically important market for the company and said the new facility would strengthen its local presence while expanding access to its health and wellness products. He added that the company aims to reach more than 300 million additional consumers in India, contributing to its broader target of serving one billion more consumers worldwide by 2030.
