Humanitarian Crisis Deepens as Aid Agencies Warn of Food Shortages

Millions Face Hunger Risks in Conflict-Affected Regions

GENEVA, May 23: International humanitarian organizations warned that worsening conflicts, economic instability and climate related disasters are intensifying food shortages in several vulnerable regions across Africa and the Middle East.

Aid agencies reported growing concerns over rising malnutrition rates, especially among children and displaced families living in conflict hit areas with limited access to healthcare and clean water.

The World Food Programme said funding shortages are affecting emergency operations and limiting the ability to deliver food assistance to millions in need.

Humanitarian officials called on wealthy nations and international donors to increase financial support to prevent further deterioration of living conditions in crisis zones.

Conflict, drought and inflation have combined to disrupt agricultural production and supply chains, leaving communities increasingly dependent on international aid. Relief organizations warned that without immediate assistance, the number of people facing severe hunger could rise dramatically in the coming months.

Experts stressed that long-term solutions must include conflict resolution, climate resilience strategies and stronger global cooperation to stabilize food security systems worldwide.
