Srinagar, 01-10-2023 : The Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has taken a stern stance by ordering the suspension of all officers and staff members associated with the administration of the revered Hazratbal shrine. This drastic action comes as a response to allegations of negligence in the discharge of their duties during the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
The decision to conduct a surprise visit to the Hazratbal shrine by the Waqf Board Chairperson was prompted by numerous complaints received from the public. The visit was intended to assess the situation on the ground and determine the veracity of these complaints.
Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that there had been significant lapses in the performance of duty by the shrine’s staff. These lapses resulted in considerable inconveniences faced by the devotees who had gathered at the shrine to mark Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
Despite receiving repeated directives and instructions from the concerned authorities, the staff responsible for managing the Hazratbal shrine had failed to adequately provide essential facilities and services to the devotees in attendance. This negligence on their part led to the suspension of all officers and staff members associated with the shrine, effective immediately.
In response to the seriousness of the situation, an inquiry team, led by the Chairperson, has been constituted to thoroughly investigate the matter. This team will delve into the details surrounding the alleged negligence and the consequent inconveniences experienced by the devotees.
