Ladakh LG participates in Third Global RE-INVEST conference

27-11-2020: Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory Ladakh Mr. RK Mathur participated in the Third Global RE-INVEST conference organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, today. Re-Invest is a global flagship initiative and strives to connect the global investment community with Indian energy stakeholders.
On the second day of the Conference, during CMs’ Plenary session, Mr. Mathur highlighted Ladakh’s potential in renewable energy generation. He also elaborated the efforts to make Ladakh have the capability to become a Hydrogen-driven region.
Mr. Mathur listed various steps to make Ladakh a Carbon Neutral, as per the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision. He stated that Ladakh has the potential for 30 GigaWatts of Solar Energy, Five GigaWatts of Wind Energy, Two Giga Watts of Hydel Energy, and 300 MW of Geothermal Energy.
He hoped that conducive conditions, low capital, and high yieldings would attract investments in Solar energy in Ladakh.
