LG Sinha to Unveil Magnificent Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu Tomorrow
07-06-2023 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is set to inaugurate the highly anticipated Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, famously known as Tirupati Balaji, located in Majeen on the outskirts of Jammu. The temple has garnered immense attention and devotion, with special prayers being performed on Tuesday evening in preparation for the grand inauguration.
According to officials, the inauguration ceremony will take place tomorrow morning, with LG Manoj Sinha presiding over the auspicious event. The significance of this occasion is further emphasized by the recent foundation laying ceremony conducted by LG Sinha and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday. The foundation was laid for the Yatra Niwas, dedicated to Shri Amarnath, and the Disaster Management Centre at Majeen.
The Tirupati Balaji Temple is a sacred place of worship dedicated to Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, believed to have manifested to alleviate the trials and tribulations of Kali Yuga. This holy site is also known by various other names, including Tirumala Temple and Tirupati Temple, reflecting its widespread reverence and spiritual significance.
Spanning an expansive area of 62 acres, the temple’s construction has been completed in two phases, at a cost of Rs 33.22 crore. This prestigious project encompasses a multitude of pilgrimage facilities and other infrastructure dedicated to education and development. The temple complex includes a Veda Pathshala with classrooms, a hostel building, and staff quarters. Additionally, there are provisions for pilgrims’ amenities, a Kalyanamandapam (marriage hall), Vahanamandapam (procession hall), and more.
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has granted a lease of 40 years to the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) Board for the land on which the temple stands. This collaboration reflects the government’s commitment to facilitating and supporting the spiritual and religious pursuits of the people.
