Jammu 16 March 2026 : The renowned cultural organisation Natrang, in association with Arohi Sangeet Kala Vidyalaya, organised a captivating musical evening titled “Shaam-e-Ghazal” at the prestigious Abhinav Theatre in Jammu today. The event celebrated the timeless charm of ghazal and regional music and featured the eminent singer Jitender Singh Jamwal, popularly known for his soulful renditions and rich musical versatility.
Originally hailing from Jammu and presently based in Delhi, Jitender Singh Jamwal has carved a remarkable niche for himself in the world of music over the past three decades. With an illustrious career spanning national and international stages, he has earned immense appreciation for presenting ghazals, Dogri folk songs, Sufi compositions and devotional music with remarkable depth and emotional expression. His powerful yet melodious voice, combined with a deep understanding of poetic nuances, has made him a respected name among music lovers and connoisseurs alike.
Apart from being a celebrated vocalist, Jamwal is also an accomplished music director. Over the years, he has composed music for several films, television serials, radio programmes, television commercials and ballets. His compositions reflect a harmonious blend of classical traditions and contemporary sensibilities, further highlighting his artistic versatility.

Among the distinguished personalities present on the occasion were Balwant Thakur, Director of Natrang and recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri, and Kuldeep Kumar, Chairman of Arohi Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya, along with several prominent citizens, artists and music enthusiasts of the city.
Music connoisseurs present at the event remarked that such a concert had been long awaited. Due to his demanding schedule in Delhi and frequent international performances, Jamwal rarely gets the opportunity to perform in his homeland. Therefore, his performance in Jammu held special significance for the local audience.
