Three Policemen Injured as Escort Vehicle of Mehbooba Mufti Skids Off Road in Baramulla
Srinagar, Feb 9: Three police personnel sustained injuries after an escort vehicle accompanying Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
The incident took place in Watergam village, Sopore, when the vehicle, part of the former Chief Minister’s security convoy, reportedly lost control and skidded off the road. According to police officials, the accident resulted in minor injuries to three officers who were promptly rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Mehbooba Mufti was en route to Kupwara at the time of the mishap, sources said. While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, preliminary reports suggest slippery road conditions may have contributed to the vehicle losing traction.
Authorities are monitoring the condition of the injured personnel, and further details are awaited.
