Tony slams hike in price of LPG cylinders, saying even frying ‘Pakodas’ will now be difficult

Asks Govt to immediately release Sisodia

SUCHETGARH: Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jammu and Kashmir for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh has slammed the latest hike in price of LPG cylinders, saying it is another blow to the common man’s pocket and that even frying ‘Pakodas’ will now be difficult.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the development works in Village Baja Chak and village Siddar in Suchetgarh, the senior AAP leader said this would burden the people further when the prices of all food and essential commodities are rising relentlessly. “Domestic LPG cylinder prices were hiked by Rs 50 and commercial LPG cylinder prices by Rs 350.50. With rising fuel prices, inflation, and job losses, Modi Government’s insensitive policies continue to burden the people, he said, demanding immediate rollback of this cruel hike.

The senior AAP leader said that the Modi Govt is hell bent upon to recover the losses of his rich friends like Ambani and Adani by waiving of their loans and recovering them from the poor people of the country through the highest inflation India has seen in the last 75 years after independence .

“Modi Govt is the first government which has set record for the highest inflation in India for slapping GST on essential dairy products. Even the GST has also imposed on the note book, pen, pencils, erasers and other stationery material of Nursery class students. Modi Government stands number one for creating highest unemployment in the country in last 75 years. It has doubled the expenditure of farmers in the shape of hike in the prices of seeds, fertilizers, diesel, pesticides, etc. which has badly hit the food producers of the country,” he said.

Tony said that the rate of every commodity has gone manifold high where as the selling price of farmers remains the same. The LPG cylinder, which is the essential commodity of every household, has seen the highest increase under the Modi Government, he said, adding that this hike will result in the complete collapse of household budgets.

Tony said instead of giving of any relief, the Modi Government has miserably failed to control the inflation whereas it was the main slogan in the 2014 & 2019 Parliamentary elections to control the inflation but it has increased the inflation in manifolds. He said that the government at the Centre is only interested in dislodging the democratically elected government through money and government agencies like CBI, ED and Income Tax raids on all the opposition parties.

The senior AAP leader also strongly condemned the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam, terming it as undemocratic.

Tony said the Central Government investigators have been targeting Sisodia for nearly a year, not a shred of evidence has been found to substantiate the allegations. No cash or any illegal documents has been found. Realizing that it is only the AAP that has the power to face the BJP and since the latter is unable to confront us politically, it is misusing its powers to create trouble like this, he added.

Tony said it’s only Arvind Kejriwal who can actually provide employment to the unemployment youth of India and launch welfare schemes for the people of the country and control inflation. He asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the hands of Arvind Kejriwal for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sarpanch Akshay Ch, Panch Bawa Ram and Mandeep Choudhary accompanied the senior AAP leader.
