National Agricultural Conference to Begin on September 15 for Two Days
Conference to focus on Rabi crop strategies, farmer-centric solutions, and implementation of PM Modi’s ‘Lab to Land’ vision.
New Delhi, Sept 13: Following the success of the first phase of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development will launch the second phase, focusing on Rabi crops, under the leadership of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
As part of the preparations, a two-day National Agricultural Conference — Rabi Abhiyan 2025 will be held at Pusa Campus, New Delhi, from September 15. The conference will bring together agricultural scientists, policymakers, and senior representatives from central and state governments to discuss sowing season strategies, production targets, and farmer-centric solutions for Rabi 2025-26.
Officials said this is the first time the Rabi Conference will be spread over two days. On the opening day, central and state government officials will hold detailed discussions on key issues related to Rabi crops. On September 16, Union and State Agriculture Ministers, along with Ministers of State, will conduct in-depth reviews of technology transfer, seed distribution, and other measures to enhance agricultural productivity.
For the first time, scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) have also been invited to share regional insights and challenges, enriching the dialogue with ground-level experiences. Parallel technical sessions will allow experts, scientists, and state representatives to present practical solutions, fostering collaborative strategies for sustainable growth.
The Ministry said the campaign embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Lab to Land’ mantra, aiming to ensure that farmers receive timely access to new technologies, knowledge, and support systems that strengthen India’s agricultural sector.
