PM Modi opens 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference in Kolkata with focus on reforms, transformation and operational preparedness.
Kolkata, Sep 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the three-day 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the Eastern Command headquarters of the Indian Army, Vijay Durg (erstwhile Fort William), in Kolkata.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force were among the key attendees. This is the first such conference after Operation Sindoor, a tri-services campaign designed to dismantle terror infrastructure across the Line of Control and deeper inside Pakistan.
The CCC, held biennially, serves as the apex strategic forum of the armed forces, facilitating interaction between the nation’s top civil and military leadership. The 16th edition focuses on reforms, transformation, and operational preparedness under the theme “Year of Reforms Transforming for the Future.”
Officials said the discussions will highlight institutional reforms, deeper tri-services integration, technological modernisation, and maintaining high levels of multi-domain operational readiness.
This marks Modi’s fourth visit to West Bengal in five months and his second in the past month. He arrived in Kolkata on Sunday evening from Assam and reached Vijay Durg on Monday morning from Raj Bhavan, before his scheduled departure to Purnea, Bihar, later in the day.
