Punjabi Singer-Actor Rajvir Jawanda Dies After Motorcycle Crash and Ventilator Struggle

Rajvir Jawanda, known for hit songs and Punjabi films, succumbs to injuries sustained in Himachal Pradesh road accident

Rajvir Jawanda, a rising star in the Punjabi music and film industry, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, after spending 11 days on a ventilator following a severe road accident. The singer suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle crash in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district.

The accident occurred on September 27 near Baddi, when Rajvir lost control of his bike while traveling to Shimla. He sustained serious head and spinal injuries and was initially admitted to a local hospital in Solan, where he reportedly experienced cardiac arrest. Later, he was transferred to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where medical teams provided intensive care. Despite life saving efforts, his injuries proved fatal.

During his time on life support, the Punjabi entertainment industry and his fans rallied in support, praying for his recovery. Stars including Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, Ammy Virk, Gippy Grewal, and Kanwar Grewal shared heartfelt messages. Diljit Dosanjh, performing in Hong Kong at the time, paused his concert to urge fans to pray for Rajvir, saying, “Dua mei asar hai.”

Career and Legacy
Born and raised in Punjab, Rajvir Jawanda initially trained for a career in the Punjab Police but later pursued his passion for music. His chart-topping songs like ‘Tu Dis Painda’, ‘Khush Reha Kar’, ‘Sardari’, ‘Afreen’, ‘Landlord’, ‘Down to Earth’, and ‘Kangani’ made him a household name.

Rajvir also appeared in Punjabi films, including Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), Jind Jaan (2019), and Mindo Taseeldarni (2019), showcasing his versatility as an actor.

He is survived by his spouse and two young children, leaving behind a grieving family and a legacy that touched the hearts of fans across the Punjabi entertainment world.
