Tata Open Begins Thursday Yuvraj Sandhu, Veer Ahlawat Among Favorites
Four-day tournament at Beldih and Golmuri golf courses features 126 professionals competing for Rs 2 crore prize purse.
Jamshedpur, Dec 25: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) on Wednesday announced the commencement of the Tata Open 2025, the final leg of the 2025 PGTI season, to be held from December 25 to 28 at the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses in Jamshedpur. The four-day stroke-play event features a total prize purse of Rs 2 crore.
A field of 126 professional golfers will compete in four rounds of 18 holes each, with the top 50 players and ties making the cut after two rounds. In the first two rounds, half of the field will play at Beldih and the other half at Golmuri, with the venues swapped in round two. After the cut, leading players will begin rounds three and four at Golmuri and move to Beldih for the second nine holes.
The tournament features India’s top professionals, including 2025 PGTI Order of Merit champion Yuvraj Sandhu, 2024 champion Veer Ahlawat, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Arjun Prasad, Manu Gandas, Angad Cheema, Om Prakash Chouhan, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Rashid Khan, Khalin Joshi, and Chikkarangappa. Leading international players include Sri Lanka’s N. Thangaraja and Mithun Perera, Bangladesh’s Md Siddikur Rahman and Jamal Hossain, Czech Republic’s Stepan Danek, American Koichiro Sato, Nepal’s Subash Tamang, and Uganda’s Joshua Seale.
Several former Tata Open champions will also compete, including Om Prakash Chouhan, Mithun Perera, Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan, and Gurki Shergill. Local professional Kurush Heerjee will lead the challenge from Jamshedpur.
