MUCH-NEEDED BOOST TO J&K ARTS

Editorial . . . . . .

Art is very important to our civilization in this technological age. Art infuses society with beauty and creativity. It is crucial because it improves the quality of life in our society. The satisfaction and pleasure of art are contagious. The expression of facts and beliefs is possible via art. It illustrates different concepts and emotions, including victory, love, happiness, grief, and boredom. Every piece of art conveys a message that expresses concepts that are important to society. A healthy balance between human capital with technical skills and that who is artistically oriented is necessary for society to be complete. A unique set of advantages are provided by the arts. They are one of the major forces behind economic expansion. The arts generate employment and tax money. A vibrant arts community is a valuable economic resource that boosts economic growth, draws tourists, and increases a state’s labour force and tax base. It has been demonstrated that using the arts to revitalize rural areas, cities, and communities living in poverty is an effective and long-lasting technique. More importantly, the arts foster youthful imaginations and support academic performance, raising children’s academic achievement across a range of subject areas. They teach the critical thinking, communications, and innovation abilities required for a thriving 21st-century workforce. Additionally, they promote good physical, mental, and emotional health, facilitating healing processes and enhancing wellbeing. Aging adults, children, and traumatized individuals, such as service members and veterans, can all benefit from art therapy in a medical and financial sense. The arts foster a hospitable sense of place and the desired quality of life in today’s modern, fast-paced culture. The arts also contribute to a robust democracy by fostering civic conversation, offering platforms for pressing topics and fostering group problem-solving. And probably most importantly, the arts support and safeguard cultural legacies. The arts conserve culture and heritage, transmitting to subsequent generations of residents the distinctive character and traditions of a state. Additionally essential to community resilience are the arts. The arts are a potent force for recovery and healing, a benefit that few other businesses can provide, whether states are dealing with economic hardship, natural disasters, or other challenges. An essential component of a thriving arts sector is local government funding for the arts. Governments must promote community cultural engagement by providing funding, programmes, and services that support the arts. The chance of satisfying the many and various demands of artists and the arts is increased when there are numerous financial assistance options available. The creative industries are diverse, and various segments require various types of assistance. The different types of financial support for the arts can be roughly divided into two categories: those aimed at structures, such as arts organizations and venues, which provide artists with work, and those aimed at providing direct assistance to individuals to foster creativity or lessen hardship. Many ethnic art forms of Jammu and Kashmir may disappear if the government does not provide this kind of assistance.  Finally,  it is out of context to mention that it is the gloomy reality behind the artworks that decorate our walls and bring us joy every day, since many artists rely on side jobs to make ends meet.
