Anti Encroachment drive carried out at Samba, Illegal residential colony demolished;218- Kanal prime state land retrieved
SAMBA, NOVEMBER 12: An anti-encroachment drive was today carried out at village Chak Chiba Khurd (Supwal) of district samba where 218 Kanals and 16 Marla state land was retrieved from illegal possession after the demolition of concrete structures being raised to develop it into a residential colony.
Under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, the anti-encroachment team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, C P Kotwal, and others reached the encroached site and pressed a JCB machine for the demolition of concrete structures pacca houses, pavements, sheds, RCC structures raised over the illegal possession of state land.
As per the Revenue Department, the land under khasra no. 93/14 a measuring 193 Kanals 16 Marlas was encroached upon by Vishwanathan resident of Chak Chiba Khurd and 25 Kanal under khasra no. 92/12 encroached upon by another person – Pawan Gupta and they were trying to develop a residential colony on the encroached land. However with the timely intervention of the revenue department, the conversion of state land was stopped and all the structures erected were also demolished, besides a case under relevant sections registered against the encroachers.
Tehsildar Vijaypur, Pardeep Singh, Inspector Karnail Singh besides other field staff of revenue and JK Police were part of the anti-encroachment drive.
