CBI Arrests DGCA Deputy Director in Bribery Case

CBI moves to bring arrested DGCA official to New Delhi for further questioning after registering FIR over alleged bribe demand.

New Delhi, Oct 4: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a deputy director of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Tamil Nadu over an alleged bribery case, officials said on Sunday.

The investigating agency acted after receiving information about an alleged demand for a bribe by the aviation regulator’s official. Following the inputs, the CBI registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Officials said the accused officer was taken into custody in Tamil Nadu. The agency is now expected to approach a court to obtain transit remand, allowing it to bring the official to New Delhi for further questioning.

The investigation is underway, and the CBI is examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged bribe demand as part of its probe.
