Delhi Court Grants Extension of Interim Bail for J&K MP Engineer Rashid in Terror-Funding Case Until October 28

New Delhi,/Jammu,15-10-2024: In a significant development, a Delhi court has extended the interim bail of Jammu and Kashmir Member of Parliament Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, in connection with a terror-funding case. The extension, granted on October 15, allows Rashid to remain out on bail until October 28.

The order was issued by Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh, who took into consideration the health condition of Rashid’s father when making the ruling. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) informed the court that it had verified the relevant documents and was not opposing Rashid’s application for the extension.

During the proceedings, the judge also decided to defer the ruling on Rashid’s regular bail plea until the same date, October 28. Rashid’s legal counsel asserted that this would be the final request for an extension of interim bail, emphasizing that no violations of the bail conditions had been alleged by the NIA against his client.

The case against Rashid has drawn significant attention, and the extension of his interim bail allows him to manage his family commitments while the legal proceedings continue. As the court prepares to make a final decision regarding his regular bail in the coming weeks, both the legal teams and the public await further developments in this high-profile case.
