Ghulam Nabi Azad Advocates the Vital Role of Electoral Democracy: Urges Swift Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir
Empowering Banihal: Ghulam Nabi Azad's Pledge for Educational Excellence, Healthcare, and Socioeconomic Growth
16-11-2023 : In a fervent call for the upholding of electoral democracy as the irreplaceable foundation of governance, Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad passionately advocated for the swift organization of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Emphasizing the pivotal role of elected representatives in delivering governance directly to the people, Azad asserted that the current administrative framework led by bureaucrats lacks the personal touch that elected officials bring to the table.
Addressing a public rally in Neel, Banihal tehsil of Ramban district, Azad underscored the significance of electoral democracy, stating that it stands unparalleled on the global stage. He urged for the prompt conduct of elections, contending that people repose their trust exclusively in this democratic process. Azad highlighted the accessibility of elected representatives for addressing day-to-day concerns, contrasting it with the impracticality of approaching government officers and the civil secretariat for every issue.
Asserting his commitment to the development of Banihal, Azad envisioned the region as an economic powerhouse for Jammu and Kashmir. He harked back to his tenure, citing the establishment of hospitals, roads, and colleges in Banihal as transformative milestones. Azad outlined his vision for fostering tourism and agriculture sectors in the area, promising that once his party assumes power, Banihal will experience robust socioeconomic growth.
Expressing a deep connection with the people of Banihal, Azad pledged to elevate the region to the status of an emerging tourist hub, injecting vitality into the local economy. He envisaged the provision of additional colleges, hospitals, and improved healthcare facilities to eliminate the need for residents to travel long distances for medical treatment. Azad also stressed the importance of offering high-quality education, vowing to elevate educational standards in Banihal to empower local youth to compete nationally and internationally.
While acknowledging past challenges in project execution due to bureaucratic insensitivity, Azad assured the crowd that, if elected to power, he would expedite the implementation of sanctioned developmental projects in Banihal. He outlined specific plans for the establishment of a college, tehsil, tourism hub, additional roads, and a state-of-the-art hospital in Neel.
Azad did not shy away from criticizing other political parties, accusing them of exploiting the people of Banihal and asserting that these parties have faced rejection from the local populace. In conclusion, Azad’s impassioned plea for the restoration and reinforcement of electoral democracy echoed his vision for a thriving and self-sufficient Banihal under the leadership of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party.
