Kavinder terms Muharam procession in Lal Chowk after 34 Years as historic milestone
Lauds Modi Govt for acknowledging long-standing demand of Pahari community
JAMMU,27-07-2023 : Today marks a momentous occasion as the Muharram procession graced the streets of Lal Chowk after a hiatus of 34 years, symbolizing a historic milestone for the region.
This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister while issuing a statement here today. He wholeheartedly praised this significant event as a testament to the restoration of peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP stalwart said that the successful conduct of the Muharram procession reflects the end of street violence in the region, instilling hope and confidence in the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the efforts that have been made to foster an environment of peace and reconciliation.
Emphasizing the forward trajectory of Jammu and Kashmir towards prosperity, Kavinder commended the appreciable efforts of the Modi government to transform the region into a haven of development and growth.
However, he criticized the Valley-based political leaders who had obstructed such religious processions in the past. He accused them of misleading the public for their personal gains and creating hurdles in the path of communal harmony. He urged the people of Valley to remain vigilant and cautious of opportunistic political leaders who may attempt to disrupt the peace and progress that the region has been striving to achieve.
Kavinder Gupta has also extended his congratulations to the Pahari Tribals on the induction of the Bill in the Lok Sabha, which grants them Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. He commended the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for acknowledging the long-standing justified demand of the Pahari community. He called upon all citizens to stand united in promoting harmony and progress, ensuring a bright future for the region.
Kavinder emphasized that the removal of Article 370, which had deprived the people of their due rights for many years, has paved the way for significant progress and positive changes in the region. He said the aforesaid developments are seen as milestones in fostering unity, inclusivity, and the overall growth of Jammu and Kashmir.
