Police and CRPF Intensify Checks Across City to Ensure Safety During Holiday Season
Srinagar, Dec 23: Security forces in Srinagar have intensified surveillance and security measures ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The move aims to ensure the safety of residents, tourists, and public spaces during the festive period.
Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are conducting rigorous vehicle checks and monitoring at key locations across the city, including high traffic areas around Dal Lake and other prominent tourist spots. Teams from Nishat police station, in coordination with CRPF units, have been deployed at major entry and exit points to enforce strict security protocols.
Officials stated that the city is under high vigilance, with additional patrolling, temporary checkpoints, and deployment of extra personnel at sensitive locations. While ensuring security, authorities emphasized that normal city life and festivities should continue without major disruptions.
The security agencies have also appealed to citizens and visitors to cooperate with checks, remain alert, and report any suspicious activity to nearby police units.
