Tributes paid to Pt Mangat Ram Sharma on his birth anniversary
Jammu,Nov 17- Rich tributes were paid to the former Dy Chief Minister and veteran Congress Leader Pt Mangat Ram Sharma on his 90 th birth anniversary here in a function organised by Pt Mangat Ram Sharma Fan club, at Jagat resorts Jammu.
Senior politicians from different parties, retired officers, prominent members of civil society and prominent citizens besides his followers and family members attended the function and paid rich tributes to the leader.

Speakers lauded the leadership of Pt Mangat Ram Sharma who was in public life for over sixty years, held several assignments in the party and government but was always in public service.
Former President JKPCC Shri G A Mir recalled the contributions of Pt Mangat Ram Sharma and his mature qualities of leadership. He was leader of masses and always humble to the people of all walks. He tried to help to all those who came to him.
Mir described him as one of the tallest leaders of his time, who was respected a lot in the party at the centre by the high command especially by Nehru-Gandhi family. He was trusted a lot by the party because of his loyalty and qualities of leadership.
Raman Bhalla paid floral tributes to pt Mangat ram Sharma ji and recalled his great services to the people of entire state in different capacities. He was leader of masses who was always available to the people irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region and religion He played a great role as a veteran Congress leader and in the mainstream politics and fought for due rights to Jammu region.
Ch Lal Singh former minister and Ex MP praised the qualities of leadership of Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma who always stood strong for the cause of Jammu region and for poor and down trodden. He played a major role in the politics of the state and in the interests of the nation.
Khursheed Ganai in his address paid rich tributes to the former Dy CM and described him as jan sevak, whose doors were open for all the needy irrespective of his affiliations and faiths, caste ,creed ,colour.He was always helpful to the people during his long public life. He narrated his experiences in the administration to understand his qualities of leadership.
Former Minister Mula Ram described Pt Mangat Ram ji as a tallest leader of congress who always treated all with respect and sympathy with poor. He was a secular leader and strong pillar of congress.
Several other prominent persons paid floral tributes to him and praised his leadership.
