PM Modi: NDA Government Driving India’s Youth-Led Development Revolution
Prime Minister says innovation, entrepreneurship and sporting excellence are opening new avenues for young Indians as NDA government completes 12 years in office.
New Delhi, Jun 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday underscored the central role of young Indians in the country’s progress, asserting that the NDA government has consistently focused on empowering youth and creating opportunities for them to lead India’s development journey.
Marking 12 years of the NDA government at the Centre, Modi said the confidence, ambition and achievements of the country’s younger generation have emerged as one of the most significant features of the past decade. He noted that India’s youth are increasingly taking leadership roles in sectors that are shaping the future of the global economy, including technology, manufacturing, innovation, space research, semiconductors and drone technology.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the government remains committed to ensuring that young people become active participants in nation-building rather than merely beneficiaries of development programmes. He emphasized that a supportive ecosystem has been created over the years to nurture talent, encourage entrepreneurship and unlock new avenues for growth.
According to Modi, flagship initiatives launched during the last decade have played a vital role in transforming the aspirations of millions of young Indians into tangible opportunities. Programmes such as Startup India, Digital India, Skill India and the Atal Innovation Mission have helped build a framework that promotes creativity, innovation and enterprise across the country.
The Prime Minister pointed out that India has emerged as one of the world’s leading start-up hubs, with entrepreneurs from smaller towns and rural regions contributing significantly to the country’s innovation landscape. He said the success of numerous start-ups demonstrates the determination and capability of the nation’s youth to compete on a global stage.
Highlighting the growing participation of young Indians in emerging industries, Modi said technological advancement and digital transformation have opened new possibilities for employment and entrepreneurship. He added that young innovators are increasingly contributing to cutting-edge fields that are expected to play a critical role in India’s future economic growth.
The Prime Minister also praised the achievements of Indian athletes, noting that the country’s youth have brought international recognition through their performances in various sporting events and competitions. He said consistent success in global tournaments reflects the dedication and talent of young sportspersons across disciplines.
He further observed that investments in sports infrastructure, training facilities and athlete support systems have strengthened India’s sporting ecosystem. These efforts, he said, are helping talented youngsters pursue professional sports careers while enhancing the country’s presence on the international stage.
Modi stressed that empowering youth remains essential for realizing the vision of a developed India. He said the energy, innovation and determination of young citizens continue to serve as key drivers of social and economic transformation.
The NDA government recently completed 12 years in office, a period during which several initiatives aimed at improving skills, promoting digital inclusion and encouraging entrepreneurship have been introduced. Government leaders have highlighted these efforts as part of a broader strategy to harness India’s demographic advantage.
Prime Minister Modi first assumed office on May 26, 2014, following the BJP-led alliance’s victory in the general elections. He began his second term on May 30, 2019, and secured a third consecutive term after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, taking oath on June 9, 2024.
Earlier this week, Modi also surpassed the tenure of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, in terms of days served as an elected Prime Minister after general elections. The milestone added another chapter to his tenure, which has been marked by a strong emphasis on youth empowerment, digital transformation and economic modernization.
As India continues its growth trajectory, the Prime Minister reiterated that the aspirations and achievements of the country’s young population will remain at the heart of the government’s development agenda, reinforcing the vision of a future driven by innovation, talent and opportunity.
